Venerable Gregory the Hesychast 20/12/2010
Saint Gregory was born in Serbia. He was the founder of the Monastery of Saint Nicolas on Mount Athos, known today as the Monastery of Gregoriou in his honour. His cell is found on a quarter of an hour walk from the monastery. In 1761 there was a great fire at the monastery and the brethren took his holy relics to Serbia. This man of God fell asleep in peace in the year 1406.
