The Meeting of the Lord ( 15.02.2006 )

Today, on the feast of the Meeting of the Lord, in the church of Saint Gregory Palamas and the Holy Great-martyr Demetrius in Strumica, Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Hierarch’s Divine Liturgy. The present faithful at the Liturgy partook of the Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

“Thus, it is possible to taste the grace of God, for it is said: ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good’ (Ps. 34:8). This tasting is the dynamic power of the Spirit, which is made manifest in its entire fullness in the heart. Therefore they who are sons of the Light, servants of the New Covenant in the Holy Spirit, have nothing to learn from men. God teaches them. Grace itself imprints in their hearts the laws of the Spirit… the heart is the master and king of the whole bodily organism, so when grace has occupied the area of the heart it rules over all heart’s members and all its thoughts. For in the heart dwells the mind, and all the thoughts of the soul, and the soul’s expectation of the future benefits. Here it is why grace permeates all the bodily members” (Saint Macarius the Great)
