In honour of the Holy Hieromartyr Haralambos ( 23.02.2006 )
Today, on the day of the Holy Hieromartyr Haralambos, Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Divine Liturgy in the chapel of the Holy Apostle Paul and Saint Gregory Palamas in the monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos Eleusa in Veljusa.
“Do not ask for anything else from the Lord of glory except that He be merciful to you. Seek that mercy with a humble heart, with compunction; from dawn till dusk cry out—and if possible do that all night long as well: ‘Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me!’; and compel your mind to do this all until the hour of your death. This deed demands great exertion, for narrow are the gates and narrow is the road that leads to life and they alone who exert themselves go in, because the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force (Matthew 7:14; 11:12). I beg you, therefore, do not distance your hearts from the Lord, but be vigilant over them and guard them, remembering always our Lord Jesus Christ, until the Name of the Lord has taken roots in your hearts and until they have stopped thinking about anything else apart from it Christ to be glorified in you.” (
