Divine Liturgy in Vodoča ( 16.08.2005 )
Today, in the chapel of the holy Hesychasts Gregory Palamas and Elder Joseph the Spilaioti in Vodoča, Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Divine Liturgy.
“At the practice of the Jesus prayer and of prayer in general, complete and faithful protection is humility named mourning. Mourning is a heartfelt feeling of repentance, saving sorrow, due to the sinfulness and various numberless weaknesses of man. Mourning is a humble spirit, a lowly and a contrite heart God will not despise i.e. will not deliver it to the power of the demons as He does with the proud heart, filled with self-confidence, self-overestimation and vanity. Mourning is the only sacrifice God receives from the fallen human spirit until its restoration by the Holy Spirit of God. Let our prayer be permeated with the feeling of repentance, let it be united with the mourning, and delusion will never be effective within us.” (Saint Ignatius Brianchaninov)
