In the chapel of the Holy hesychasts Gregory Palamas and Joseph Spilaioti in Vodoča today Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Divine Liturgy.
They say that some, regarding the way Abba Macarius treated his brethren with no malice, said to him:
“Why are you doing this to yourself?”
And the elder answered:
“Twelve years have I served my Lord to give me this blessing, and you advise me to throw it away?”
