Star Dojran ( 05.03.2005 )

In the church of Saint Maximus the Confessor in the monastery complex of Saint Parthenius of Zographou in Star Dojran, today Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Divine Liturgy.

There was once a brother who entered a cenobium (monastic community). He kept silent all the time and deprived himself of his speech ability. Some of the beginners would say about him: “He’s silent not because of piety, but because he doesn’t know how to speak!” While others doubted this, saying: “That’s not why he’s silent, but it’s due to the demon inside him.” The brother would listen to them, yet he answered not, for in his heart he was giving thanks to God.
