Ordination into priesthood ( 26.03.2005 )
In the monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos Eleusa in Veljusa today Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Divine Liturgy with his hieromonks. At the Liturgy the Episcope ordained into priesthood the superior of the brotherhood at the Bansko monastery of the Holy Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, the hierodeacon Agathon. For spiritual edification in the practice of prayer, after the Liturgy the faithful were presented with the newly published book by the Strumica Metropolitan, School for Hesychasm.
“We are familiar with many levels of quality in prayer - in which if the ascetic is diligent, he constantly makes progress - and they have accurately been observed and handed down to us by the Fathers. The thing God eventually grants a pursuer of the prayer, and which is a rather rare gift, is the unceasing mind-and-heart prayer, when it happens that although the ascetic is occupied with speaking, reading, thinking, eating, working, and sleeping, the prayer in his heart continuously runs.” (School for Hesychasm, book 1)
