Promotion of the book "Holy Russia – records from Macedonia" by abbot Nikola (Trajkovski) ( 08.05.2010 )

Ohrid, 8th May, 2010

At the Second World Conference for Inter religious and Intercultural dialogue in Ohrid today, there was a promotion of the book "Holy Russia – records from Macedonia" by abbot Nikola, an effort dedicated to work and contribution of Russian spiritual and ecclesiastical life in Macedonia in the period of the 20th century. This edition of Templum was promoted by Archbishop Jaroslavski and Rostovski, Mr. Kiril and Professor Dr. Violeta Achkovska.

This significant effort dedicated to exile of Russian priesthood and monks and their life in Macedonia in the period between the 20’s and the 80’s of the last century has made know for the first time the exceptional significance of Russian emigration for the renewal of Archbishopric of Ohrid in the face of Macedonian Orthodox Church in the post-war period. High representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Jaroslavski and Rostovski, Mr. Kiril thanking for accepting hundreds of Russian clergymen in Macedonia in the times of Revolution, pointed out that this research effort will present a dignifying contribution to immortalize a glorious page in the brotherly cooperation between our Orthodox nations. Keeping the Russian spiritual tradition, as Professor Achkoska pointed out; Russian emigrants have left an ineffaceable spiritual mark in the history of Macedonian Orthodox Church.
