Archbishop Christopher elected a new Head of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia ( 03.05.2006 )

On 2 May 2006 the Clergy and Laity Council of the Orthodox Church of the Czech lands and Slovakia elected the new Head of this Church, the metropolitan locum tenens Archbishop Christopher.

Archbishop Christopher is the fifth head of the Orthodox Church of the Czech lands and Slovakia after it was granted autocephaly by the Moscow Patriarchate in 1951. his enthronement is scheduled for 28 May 2006.
